Wherever you look you can find a standard!
Economical use of energy does not contradict cozy warmth in living spaces. Standardized thermostatic radiator valves contribute a lot to this fact.

ISO proposal for the creation of a project committee on “Community scale resource oriented sanitation treatment systems”

A proposal to establish a new ISO project committee on “Community scale resource oriented sanitation treatment systems” has been submitted by ANSI (USA).

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 2.3 billion people worldwide have no access to safe, affordable sanitation and an estimated 1 million deaths per year, primary from dysentery-like diarrheal diseases.

ANSI submits a proposal for the creation of a project committee to develop an international standard in the field of community scale resource oriented sanitation treatment systems. The standard will define requirements and test methods to ensure safety, performance, and sustainability of community scale resource oriented fecal sludge treatment units that serve approximately 1,000 to 100,000 people.

In case of national interest, BDS can support the creation of ISO/TC on “Community scale resource oriented sanitation treatment systems”. If the establishment of ISO/TC is accepted by the national standards bodies – members of ISO, Bulgaria can obtain P- or O-membership in the work of the newly established committee.

The national stakeholders can provide their position on the proposal for this new field of ISO technical activity by 15 of January 2018 to Violeta Mihaylova, e-mail: violeta.mihailova@bds-bg.org, phone: +359 2 81 74 595.
