ISO proposal for the creation of a new project committee: “Indirect, temperature-controlled refrigerated delivery services: Land transport of parcels with intermediate transfer”

The national standards body of Japan (JISC) submits to ISO a proposal for the creation of a new Project Committee to develop an International Standard “Indirect, temperature-controlled refrigerated delivery services: Land transport of parcels with intermediate transfer”.

Scope: Development of an International Standard that specifies requirements for the provision and operation of indirect, temperature-controlled refrigerated delivery services for refrigerated parcels (which might contain temperature-sensitive goods like food, plants, chemical products and cosmetics) in land transport refrigerated vehicles. It includes all refrigerated delivery service stages from the acceptance of a refrigerated parcel from its delivery service user all the way to its delivery at the designated destination, including intermediate transfer of the refrigerated parcels between refrigerated vehicles and via geographical routing. This standard also includes requirements for resources, operations and communications to delivery service users.

In case of national interest, BDS can approve the creation of ISO/PC on “Indirect, temperature-controlled refrigerated delivery services: Land transport of parcels with intermediate transfer”. If the establishment of ISO/PC is accepted by the national standards bodies – members of ISO, Bulgaria can obtain P- or O-membership in the work of the newly established committee.

The national stakeholders can provide their position on the proposal for this new field of ISO technical activity by 14 of November 2017 to expert Eng. Stoyka Nacheva, e-mail: stoyka.nacheva@bds-bg.org, tel: +359 2 81 74 585.
