ISO proposal for the creation of a new technical committee on “Remanufacturing technology”

 

The national standards body of China (SAC) submits to ISO a proposal for the creation of a new Technical Committee “Remanufacturing technology”.

 

The scope of the new Technical Committee will be standardization in the field of remanufacturing technology, including terminology standards and standards for remanufacturing processes, such as dismantling, cleaning, inspection, coating preparation, forming processing and assembly. The scope of the new TC does not include the relevant areas of ISO/TC 127 and ISO/TC 67.

 

The Technical Committee will cover the following two levels of standardization activities:

  1. Level A: The new TC will focus on the development of basic standards covering terminology, guides and directives, labeling for remanufacturing products, general technical requirements and general technical criterions.
  2. Level B: It will cover the development of technical standards for remanufacturing processes, such as dismantling, cleaning, inspection, coating preparation, forming processing and assembly.

 

In case of national interest, BDS can approve the creation of ISO/TC on “Remanufacturing technology”. If the establishment of ISO/TC is accepted by the national standards bodies – members of ISO, Bulgaria can obtain P- or O-membership in the work of the newly established committee.
