ISO proposal for the creation of a new technical committee on "Foundry machinery"

A proposal to establish a new ISO technical committee on Foundry machinery has been submitted for voting by national standards body of China (SAC).

The scope of the proposal is standardization of foundry machinery, including terminology, classification, specification, test methods and quality requirements of different types of foundry machines and equipments.

The Technical Committee will cover the following three levels of standardization activities:

  1. Level A: The new TC will focus on the development of basic standards covering terminology and classification of foundry machinery and related products.
  2. Level B: It will cover the development of standards related to methods, including test methods of physical and mechanical properties of foundry machinery.
  3. Level C: It will cover standards on products, including standards of related products of foundry machinery.

Level A and B will form the basis for formulating foundry machinery standards, while level C is for product applications.

In case of national interest, BDS can approve the creation of ISO/TC on Foundry machinery. If the establishment of ISO/TC is accepted by the national standards bodies – members of ISO, Bulgaria can obtain P- or O-membership in the work of the newly established committee.

The national stakeholders can provide their position on the proposal for this new field of ISO technical activity and BDS participation in standards making process by 15 of February 2016 to eng. Yordanka Naydenova, email: yordanka.naydenova@bds-bg.org, tel. +359 2 81 74 567.
